Iceland

Zpof  Beach is in the north of Iceland.                   In winter there is a lot of snow and ice. The sea water is very cold and it is hard for animals to live here.   Animals and plants have found interesting ways to survive.

                                 Hairy Crab

The hairy crab gets its name from the thick hairs that covers it's body. The hairs are like a coat that help keep it warm. In winter hundreds of hairy crabs gather together for warmth.

                                         Ghost Fish

The ghost fish gets its name by the way it glides through the water without moving it's body. It is a visiting fish. They only come to Iceland in the summer season. In winter they swim south to the warmer seas near Spain.

                                                Sea Pig

The sea pig is the size of a large dog. It moves along the seabed on hundreds of short stubby legs. It has many layers of fat on its body to keep it warm in the icy waters.
